Highlights

This Mid-Autumn Festival, why not create your own handmade fruit wine to share with family and friends? Viva Blue House presents the "Handmade Seasonal Fruit Wine Workshop," inviting seasoned local instructor Auntie Wah to share her years of experience in crafting traditional fruit wines. It's a wonderful opportunity to learn the art of using seasonal ingredients and traditional techniques to create something truly unique.

Program

The workshop, part of the "Folk School" initiative, aims to preserve and promote local wisdom and traditional lifestyle practices that have been gradually marginalized by modern urban development. The session includes:

  • DIY Wine Making: Learn the secrets of selecting the best seasonal fruits and the step-by-step process of crafting your own artisan fruit wine.
  • Guided Tasting: Enjoy a special tasting session where Auntie Wah will share her long-aged plum wine and various fruit wine creations, showcasing years of expertise.
  • Culture Preservation: Gain insight into the cultural conservation efforts of the Blue House. All proceeds, after deducting costs, will support the ongoing cultural conservation projects of the We嘩 Blue House, a registered charitable organization.

Performers

The workshop is guided by Ms. Tsang Kit-wah (Auntie Wah), a long-time Wan Chai resident and expert in the craft, who will share her wisdom on traditional living and herbal health.

Venue & Access

The event will take place at the Blue House Cluster open space. As a landmark in Wan Chai, this historic site serves as a perfect hub for cultural exchange. Please meet at the designated area as instructed.
