An Invitation to Quietude: The MaliMali Exhibition

Welcome to the world of MaliMali, an immersive art showcase featuring the character Mali, created by Hong Kong illustrator Suet Yee. Hosted at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, this exhibition is a sanctuary for those who appreciate the beauty of introversion and the art of stillness.

The Concept: Resilience in Silence

Through minimalist lines and a soft aesthetic, Suet Yee explores the internal life of her protagonist, Mali. Mali is not just a character; she is an embodiment of introverted strength, representing the joy of solitude and the richness of personal reflection. The exhibition portrays how an introverted approach to life—subtle yet resilient—can be a powerful way to navigate our chaotic world. Each artwork serves as a window into the soul, encouraging visitors to pause and find peace in their own internal landscapes.

The Artist and the Character

  • Suet Yee (雪怡): A multi-talented creator who has journeyed through design, ceramics, photography, and calligraphy. Since 2025, she has focused on the Mali IP, developing her brand as a voice for quiet reflection.
  • Mali (瑪妮): Described as a "little pearl from the ocean," Mali is defined by her water-drop hair and dreamy demeanor. She loves nature, solitude, and exploration, serving as the perfect companion for anyone seeking a mindful escape.

Engaging with Art: Special Workshop

To deepen your connection with the exhibition, we are hosting a Character Design Workshop for Children on May 25, 2026. This session introduces kids to the magic of collage art inspired by legends like Henri Matisse and Eric Carle. Kids will learn to break conventional rules, transforming simple shapes like "inverted crowns" into unique, soulful characters. For more details, check our Workshop Signup Form.
