"Augmented Reality" Exhibition

Introduction

The "Augmented Reality" exhibition presents a compelling collection of miniature sculptures, continuing the spirit of the long-standing "Cement Eclipses" project started in 2006. Through meticulous craftsmanship, the artist places miniature, grey-suited, bald, middle-aged male figures into unexpected everyday objects such as sardine cans, rusted paint cans, birdcages, and face masks. These sculptures serve as profound sociological studies rather than mere artistic displays.

Artistic Vision & Highlights

The exhibition explores the tension between reality, virtuality, and the constraints of consumer society. In "Dreamer," figures sleep blankly upon money, while "Isolated" and the cage-themed series vividly depict the powerlessness of individuals trapped in miniature spaces by electronic devices and virtual reality gear. Works like "Follower," "Tar Pit," "Eve," and "Adam" transform common objects into cages or traps, metaphors for the absurdity of humans becoming products in a materialistic, tech-saturated world. We invite viewers to bend down, focus their gaze on these minute details, and contemplate the poignant tension between comedy and despair inherent in contemporary existence.
