Anne Imhof: Swan Society

Overview

Tai Kwun Contemporary is proud to present the first major Asian solo exhibition by Anne Imhof, the 2017 Venice Biennale Golden Lion winner. Titled 'Swan Society', the exhibition transforms the gallery into a high-tension space featuring commissioned works that blend painting, bronze sculpture, and ambient soundscapes. The exhibition invites visitors to navigate a fictional future narrative, following a strong female protagonist on a journey through a chaotic urban landscape.

Artistic Team

Curated by Catherine Kwok and Leung Wai-ching, the exhibition features architectural design by COLLECTIVE Studio and engineering support from Arup. The collaboration aims to deliver a grand sensory experience. A highlight of the exhibition is the deep partnership with the Hong Kong Ballet, integrating classical dance with contemporary art through live performances.

Special Performance Dates

Two types of special performances will be held:

• Opening Week Performance (featuring Hong Kong Ballet and international performers): September 25-26, 2026.
• Hong Kong Ballet Adaptation Performances: October 3, 4, 10, 11, 24, 25, 31; November 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29, 2026.

Venue & Access

Located in the heart of Central at Tai Kwun, the venue is easily accessible by MTR (Central Station). Visitors are encouraged to explore this historic site turned contemporary art hub.

• Concession: HK$40 (For full-time students with valid ID, persons with disabilities, and seniors aged 60+).
