Highlights

Presented by the CUHK School of Continuing and Professional Studies, the 'Ink Thoughts, Ink Appreciation' exhibition showcases the creative achievements of students from the 'Introduction to New Ink Painting' short course. This exhibition offers more than just a display of artwork; it is an aesthetic journey that invites viewers to witness the innovation of contemporary ink painting rooted in tradition, through the 'thought-based' creations of eight emerging artists.

Program

Contemporary ink art in Hong Kong continues to thrive, and the theme 'Ink Thoughts, Ink Appreciation' bridges the gap between the creator's mental processes and the viewer's visual experience. Guided by instructor Yang Guofen, students have explored the dialogue between traditional brushwork and contemporary contexts. The works on display demonstrate a mastery of point, line, texture, and ink wash techniques. Whether you are an ink art enthusiast or an artist seeking inspiration, this exhibition promises a unique visual experience.

Performers

Curated under the guidance of Yang Guofen, President of the Hong Kong Modern Ink Painting Society, the exhibition features works by students: Chan Kam-cheung, Chan Yuk-yu, Cheung King-ming, Cheung Yuen-ling, Kwan Tat-keung, Lau Man-ying, Leung Chi-wai, and Leung Ka-man. Each artist brings their own distinct perspective and stylistic approach to the medium.
