The STEPS CLUB, a public engagement platform under the "ON & ON STEPS Residency Programme," aims to create a dialogue between artists and the public. Whether you are an art student, an aspiring creator, or someone interested in local culture and social issues, STEPS CLUB offers a valuable opportunity to interact directly with frontline practitioners. These talks go beyond simple knowledge sharing, acting as a deep exploration of "how creation happens."
Program
This year's STEPS CLUB presents four compelling sessions, examining the multiple dimensions of artistic creation:
- 12 Sep (3:00 PM) | Yan Sui-fong: The Inquiry in Creation Exploring the reflections and core questions within the creative process.
- 13 Sep (3:00 PM) | Cheng Sze-ling: Alternative Anthropology — Research on the Performance "Managing Death in Exile" A deep dive into translating anthropological perspectives into theatrical practice.
- 11 Oct (3:00 PM) | Lai Shin-fong: Sustainability of a Work (Silver Age Disco) Discussing the long-term maintenance and community connection of artistic projects.
- 11 Oct (5:00 PM) | Fung Ching-ching & Law Miu-yin: Creative Micro-ecology — A Residency Experiment Sharing the experimental creative process and micro-ecological observations during the residency.
Venue & Access
The event takes place at the Cattle Depot Theatre (63 Ma Tau Kok Road, To Kwa Wan, Kowloon). As a significant base for local experimental theatre, the Cattle Depot provides a unique environment for the audience to experience the artistic atmosphere up close.
Ticketing
