Program Overview

"MIMA will serve you wholeheartedly, hoping you attain the joy of paradise."

'MIMA' is more than just a theatrical production; it is an experiment on love and memory. Set against a sci-fi backdrop where consciousness can be uploaded, the story imagines a world without funerals where time remains stagnant on a 'Windows prairie.' The stage is transformed into a functioning, heat-emitting machine, guiding the audience into its core to encounter a 'mother' existing as data. The performance delves into her life, confusion, and death, exploring the struggle of her consciousness within a machine-dominated system.

Highlights

  • Sci-Fi Experimental Aesthetics: The stage is re-imagined as a machine space, using recurring visual landscapes to depict the cold yet melancholic nature of digital consciousness preservation.
  • Immersive Sensory Experience: The work focuses on the intersection of sound and vision, blending text, body movement, spoken word, and improvisational music to poetically touch upon themes of absence and non-existence.
  • Profound Emotional Resonance: The play asks what remains of human connection when technology intervenes in life and death. As the machine looks back at us, we are invited to reconsider the essence of humanity.
