Program

'Orlando Variations' is an immersive journey that traces the legend of Orlando across centuries and continents. The program ingeniously weaves excerpts from Virginia Woolf's fantasy novel with a diverse array of musical pieces. The repertoire spans from Renaissance compositions by John Dowland, through Romantic works by Jules Massenet and Schubert, to contemporary tracks by Bob Dylan, Laurie Anderson, and Thomas Adès. By utilizing both acoustic and electric guitars, the duo explores complex themes ranging from courtly love to personal identity, offering a visionary soundscape that breaks traditional concert boundaries.
