Highlights

Tai Kwun Contemporary Family Day offers an engaging interactive experience designed for parents and children aged five and above to connect through contemporary art. By bridging gallery exploration with hands-on practice, families are encouraged to transcend traditional viewing habits and discover creativity through everyday materials, fostering unique shared artistic memories.

Program

The program features two distinctive artist-led workshops, each providing a unique perspective on creative exploration:

  1. "Object Transformation": Hosted by artists Lin Ying-shi and Tang Kwong-sun. This workshop invites participants to explore the intersection of space and materials. Utilizing the cyanotype process and a spirit of scientific inquiry, participants will question and reinvent the function of ordinary objects, transforming daily accessories into unique "soft sculptures."

  2. "Reasons to Rebel": Guided by artist Yau Kwok-keung. Inspired by the way Anne Imhof's exhibition challenges traditional artistic norms, this workshop uses the concept of "house rules" as a starting point. It guides families to utilize contemporary creative methods to explore physical perception and craft unique, expressive art pieces that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern ideas.
