Event Overview

Under the auspices of the Buddhist Compassion Mission Centre, the Buddhist Hospital Chaplaincy Ministry has been providing vital spiritual support and hospice care to patients and their families since 2011. Over the past fifteen years, this ministry has expanded its reach to twenty hospitals across Hong Kong, serving over 100,000 individuals. The "Life and Death in Dialogue" forum continues this mission, deepening the discourse on death education and spiritual care through cross-regional and interreligious dialogues, aiming to infuse new strength into hospice care.

Program Highlights

Held from November 16th to 17th, the forum brings together healthcare professionals, scholars, and spiritual care experts from the Asia-Pacific region to collaboratively explore the future of palliative care. The event agenda is structured as follows:

  • November 16th (Monday)

    • Morning (9:20 - 12:35): Palliative Care Services in the Asia-Pacific and Hong Kong (Concurrent seminars 1B and 1C).
    • Afternoon (14:00 - 17:30): Palliative Care Services for Families, Caregivers, and Religious Perspectives (Concurrent seminars 2B and 2C).
  • November 17th (Tuesday)

    • Morning (9:20 - 12:30): Palliative Care Services through Buddhist Practices.
    • Afternoon (14:00 - 17:40): Community and Residential Implementation of Palliative Care, followed by a Summary and Outlook (Concurrent seminars 4B and 4C).
