Program Overview

Do you ever feel that anxiety or past failures are holding you back? You are not alone. As a finale to the CHAT summer exhibition "Call & Response!", this workshop led by artist Chan Wai-lap invites you to engage in a healing and interactive journey to regain the courage to move forward. This experience is designed to turn your vulnerabilities into a source of personal growth and artistic expression.

Highlights

Participants will be invited to quietly write down a worry or frustration on a piece of paper, which will be submitted anonymously to artist Chan Wai-lap. In exchange, the artist will provide a handwritten note of encouragement. With this note, participants are then empowered to take up a pair of scissors and symbolically "cut" the hair of the artist's large-scale installation, "Head-to-Head." By reshaping the artwork according to your own will, you can release long-held emotional burdens and embark on a new chapter with a fresh perspective.

Performers

Chan Wai-lap is an artist known for his focus on human emotion and personal narrative. He frequently utilizes installation art and public engagement to create meaningful dialogue between the viewer and the creative space.

Venue & Access

This event is hosted at CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) at The Mills, located at 45 Pak Tin Par Street, Tsuen Wan. As a key cultural destination in Hong Kong, CHAT bridges the history of textile craftsmanship with contemporary art practices.

Ticketing Information

Registration is required to join. A deposit of HKD 50 is applicable and will be fully refunded upon participation. Please register online via the art-mate ticketing platform.
