Have you ever wondered what the vibrant life of a community looks like when viewed through the lens of local artists? The Cotton Tree Corridor Art Project (「幸會木棉」木棉長廊展示企劃) is an immersive exhibition that transforms the fleeting beauty of kapok blossoms into a permanent, year-round celebration of creativity at The Mills. Curated by the World of Covenant team, this project invites seven unique local voices—including painters, illustrators, and tattoo artists—to interpret the kapok trees found within their own neighbourhoods.
The Artists and Their Vision
The featured artists participating in this project include Rainbow Lau, Maoshan Connie, Yorki, Old Textbooks (Lau Chi-chung), Benny Lau, Pearl Lau, and UUendy Lau. Each has created works that interweave their personal artistic language with the botanical and social landscape of Hong Kong.
Related Activities and Keepsakes
The project extends beyond visual art into tangible experiences through two main collaboration slots:
Limited Postcard Collection: We have collaborated with the seven creators to produce seven limited-edition postcards. One design is a temporary tattoo sticker you can wear, while another requires a stamp collection journey across various spots in The Mills to complete your own physical print.
Where to Buy: You can collect these exclusive items at the The Mills G/F Information Counter (available until July 6) or through Ito Cultural Hub (available until May 24).
We encourage everyone to visit The Mills at 45 Pak Tin Par Street, Tsuen Wan. Whether you are a fan of local design or simply seeking a moment of peace with nature, the Cotton Tree Corridor offers a unique perspective on the urban environment we share. Please ensure to check the official Instagram for any updates on stock availability of the postcards.
