A month-long public exhibition showcasing community research results and youth projects.

The Youth Livable Living Festival (青年宜居生活節) is an immersive, community-driven event co-curated by WaveHeart and the Hong Kong Children & Youth Services (HKCYS), specifically their "SoSo Youth Life Studies" project. Held at the industrial-chic SONOVA Studio in the heart of Sham Shui Po, this festival invites participants to rethink the relationship between our physical streets and our personal well-being. The festival focuses on the theme of "Life & Living," dissecting the practical realities of survival in the city against the essential elements that provide emotional and social nourishment to young people.
Why This Matters
Streets are more than just transit paths; they are the backdrops where life unfolds, relationships are forged, and identities are shaped. The organizers ask a fundamental question: What kind of soil does a community need to support young people to truly thrive? Through this exhibition, visitors can explore:
- Personal Narratives: Listen to the intimate stories of youth living independently in the city.
- Community Insights: Meet local neighbourhood figures who define the spirit of Sham Shui Po.
- Visionary Experiments: Engage with WaveHeart student projects exploring store culture, public spaces, and authentic street narratives.
Programme Highlights
This festival operates in distinct phases, transitioning from early exploratory sessions to a month-long exhibition. Please note the special Opening Days and the extended Exhibition Period described in the sections below.
Visitors are encouraged to walk through the displays thoughtfully, reflecting on their own place within our shared urban fabric. Whether you are a local resident, a student of urbanism, or simply someone interested in social change, this event offers a unique platform for dialogue.
Related Activities
We are excited to present two primary engagement slots for this festival:
- Opening Weekend Series: The festival kicks off with intensive workshops and community sharing sessions.
- Ongoing Exhibition Phase: From June 6th to July 7th, the studio remains open to the public to showcase the final results of the students' community research.
For more information on the venue and how to find us, please see our Venue Details section. Do not miss this chance to be part of the conversation on what makes a truly 'livable' community.
