Actors' Family Community Musical Theatre proudly presents a double-bill script reading event, showcasing two distinct musical theatre works: "When the House Cat Meets the Cats" and "Who's More Cunning in Shek Pai Wan." This special event offers audiences a fantastic value, allowing them to experience two captivating stories with a single ticket at the Tsuen Wan Town Hall Cultural Activities Hall.

Program Highlights

"When the House Cat Meets the Cats"

This story follows Sasha, a pampered house cat who gets lost in the Yau Tsim Mong district. Sasha is invited to join the "Yau Tsim Mong Cat Welfare Association" but initially refuses due to class differences, angering the stray cat leader, Madi. With the help of the local shop cat, Ajiao, Sasha must learn to set aside prejudices and work together with others to find a way home. The play explores themes of identity and community.

"Who's More Cunning in Shek Pai Wan"

Set during the Dragon Boat Festival, the story follows a youth named Huoxi who, in an attempt to secure a village pier for his boss, faces off against the village chief's daughter. The play is filled with wit, absurd situations, and reflections on the "art" of survival in a chaotic world.

Production Team

The readings are directed by Wan Tik-lun, with Lee Tin-yan as the vocal coach. The creative team includes playwrights Hui Chun-pong and Kong Lai-ying, alongside composers Wong Chi-wing and Yeung Chun-to. The performances feature Chu Wing-yan and members of the Actors' Family Community Musical Theatre.

Venue & Access

The event takes place at the Cultural Activities Hall of Tsuen Wan Town Hall. The venue is conveniently located near the MTR Tsuen Wan Station and various major shopping malls, ensuring easy access for all patrons.
