The Hong Kong Science Fair 2026 is the city’s premier flagship educational event, organized by the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation (HKIF). Now in its fifth edition, this exhibition serves as a vital platform for young minds to transform creative concepts into tangible, science-backed solutions.
Event Overview
This year's event will take place from June 27 to 28, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Over 120 teams of primary and secondary school students will present their inventions, which extensively feature Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technology applications. This year, the fair is proudly supported by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau (ITIB) and the Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification (HKCTC).
What's New: Aerospace & Robotics
For the first time, the event features a dedicated Aerospace Engineering Zone. Following the historic space missions involving Hong Kong's own payload specialists, this zone allows visitors to learn about the daily challenges of space research. Attendees can craft support cards for astronauts and engage with cutting-edge humanoid robots brought by UBTECH Robotics.
Interactive Experiences
The fair functions as a science carnival with several hands-on activities, such as the Bulu Bulu Bubble Factory, the Shake Shake Ice Factory, and the Home Racer 2.0 appliance upcycling challenge. Visitors can also participate in the Scan2Play scavenger hunt to celebrate the event's five-year milestone. Participation is free, but advance online registration is strictly required via the official registration portal.
Supporting Our Future Innovators
As emphasized by HKIF Chairman Daryl Ng, the fair aims to nurture talent and integrate innovation into everyday life. Prof. Sun Dong and Prof. 岑浩璋 (岑浩璋教授) have both highlighted the importance of this ecosystem in fostering long-term interest in science among Hong Kong's youth.
