As a cornerstone of the City Contemporary Dance Festival 2026 (CCDF 2026), the City Contemporary Dance Company presents the book launch for "Jump 20: Transmedia Performance and Moving Images in Asian and Global Landscapes." This new publication serves as a scholarly and creative record of the "Jumping Frames" International Dance Video Festival’s two-decade legacy, offering profound reflections on how contemporary dance has transcended the stage to inhabit the space of moving images and digital media.

Program Introduction

The boundaries of contemporary dance are no longer confined within the walls of a traditional theatre. Using this new book as a starting point, this sharing session brings together scholars and artists to examine the evolution of "Jumping Frames" over the past 20 years. The speakers will dissect how the human body has developed a new language through moving images and cross-disciplinary practices. This is more than just a book launch; it is a critical dialogue on the evolution of contemporary art in Hong Kong and across Asia.
