Highlights
"City·Oblivion" is a profound interdisciplinary performance that intertwines dance and theatre to explore the philosophical meaning of the "City" and the concept of "Oblivion." The performance is inspired by contemplations on technological civilization: as technology brings convenience to our lives, do we also feel anxious due to our obsession with efficiency and tranquility? By cleverly integrating traditional Eastern and Western ritual elements into the narrative, the show uses imagery of fire and prayer to question whether the human process of seeking salvation from guilt and bad luck through rituals is genuine redemption, or merely another layer of self-imposed constraint.
Program Introduction
"City" symbolizes the civilization and reincarnation we are situated in, while "Oblivion" represents the desire to dissolve anxiety and return to the primitive. Through physical movement and theatrical language, the performers lead the audience into a questioning of the price of happiness. The runtime is approximately 1 hour with no intermission, making it ideal for art enthusiasts seeking a thought-provoking experience.
