Overview

The "Sustainable: Reigniting the City Cross-disciplinary Art Exhibition" will be held from October 28 to November 8, 2026, at The Bridge+ Living Art Space in Sham Shui Po. This exhibition aims to bridge the gap between the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and daily life, blending classic local nostalgia with contemporary aesthetics. It encourages the public to rethink sustainable living and pass on cross-generational Hong Kong memories.

Highlights

  • Transforming Memories through Art: The core of the exhibition features "LPG Canister Artworks" created by 20 specially invited local artists. These retired blue LPG canisters, which hold memories of generations of Hong Kong people and symbolize the warmth of everyday life, are given new life as contemporary art pieces, embodying the philosophy of circular design.
  • Community Collaboration: The event is proudly supported by the Hong Kong gas appliance brand "Crown CGS." Beyond providing recycled materials, the project actively collaborates with social welfare organizations and vulnerable groups to create upcycled home aesthetic products, such as handcrafted trays and regenerated tables. This initiative puts SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) into practice, allowing visitors to bring sustainable living into their own homes.
  • Diverse Art Media: As the inaugural large-scale event for the "SDGs Art" platform, the exhibition features not only the gas canister installations but also selected works from five local artists, covering paper cutting, painting, regeneration art, and photography, showcasing the multi-dimensional visual aesthetics of sustainable development.

About SDGs Art

"SDGs Art" is dedicated to using art as a medium to translate complex UN SDGs into tangible lifestyle aesthetics. The platform provides a space for creative expression while working deeply within the community to connect diverse groups and promote environmental sustainability consciousness, allowing art to become a gentle force for social progress.
