Overview
This course aims to redefine how we interpret art, film, literature, and theory. Rooted in the concept of "Intertextuality," the program challenges rigid interpretive frameworks. We do not merely read texts; we examine art through a theoretical lens and analyze theory through the artistic eye. Covering a vast array of media including painting, photography, cinema, performance art, theatre, poetry, fiction, and popular music, this course offers a transdisciplinary space for intellectual and emotional engagement.
Highlights
- Cross-disciplinary Analysis: Break through disciplinary barriers and explore the convergence of art and cultural theory.
- Diverse Media: Engage with a variety of art forms, from visual arts to literature, sparking multidimensional insights.
- Intuitive Exploration: We encourage fluid, intuitive reading, empowering participants to find personal connections and joy in the dialogue between classic works and critical theory.
Instructor
Led by Dr. Fong Ho-yin, an expert in cultural studies and artistic analysis, the course offers a deep yet accessible journey into the intersections of theory and creation.
