Organized by "Go For Creative IDEA", this community guided tour is led by guide Yu Shuk-mei. It invites participants to stroll through the streets of Shek Kip Mei and Sham Shui Po, uncovering local stories and the resilience of the community. Through storytelling, participants will explore century-old shops and historic buildings, gaining a deeper understanding of the area's urban history—from the struggles of World War II to the aftermath of the Shek Kip Mei fire.
Program
The tour begins at the Pak Tin Street entrance of the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) and concludes at the iconic historic building, Lui Seng Chun. Yu Shuk-mei shares her personal growth story, guiding participants to "read" the city's texture. It is a unique opportunity to witness the historical layers behind aging walls and feel the hope and tenacity of its people.
