Overview
In Tagalog, "Karamay" signifies the act of sharing joys and sorrows while walking alongside others. To commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Mission for Migrant Workers (MFMW), the "Karamay" Charity Fundraising Exhibition brings together over 40 artists to present more than 50 prints and graphic works. Proceeds from this exhibition will support the center's ongoing advocacy for the rights and welfare of migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong, serving as a heartfelt tribute to their resilience and labor.
Concept & Vision
The exhibition reflects on historical events and expresses deep gratitude for the migrant workers who have been the backbone of countless households and communities in Hong Kong for decades. Living under the same sky, we share the highs and lows of life. Amidst the uncertainties of daily existence, this exhibition emphasizes the importance of companionship. Through printmaking—an art form inherently rooted in collectivity, social awareness, and the collaborative sharing of tools and processes—we aim to bridge geographical, ethnic, and linguistic boundaries. These works serve as a testament to the power of unity in pursuing a shared vision.
