An Intimate Exploration of Rhythm and Life

Li Ka-man presents BPM 72, an introspective dance performance that delves into the intersection of physical stillness and the persistent pulse of life. Set against the backdrop of the Jueben Studio in Kwun Tong, the piece invites the audience to contemplate the concept of time—how it passes through us, and how we, in turn, navigate it.

The Concept: 72 Beats Per Minute

The title BPM 72 refers to the average resting heart rate, a rhythm situated somewhere between wakefulness and dreams. The production uses movement, sound, and silence to articulate the delicate interplay between physiological calm and the underlying, heartbeat-like cadence of existence. Li Ka-man, a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, brings her extensive experience in contemporary dance and experimental performance to craft a work that is both personal and profoundly universal.

Performance Details

The show runs from June 18 to June 21, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM each evening. The venue, Jueben Studio, provides an intimate, creative atmosphere perfectly suited for the experimental nature of this work.
