Highlights
Late Summer is a thought-provoking play reading that delves into the themes of life, memory, and loneliness. The story follows 70-year-old Anna, who returns to her brother's former home only to discover his remains. Facing the realization that she, too, may end up alone, Anna is forced to confront her past and re-examine her entire life through the lens of childhood innocence. The performance blends reality and memory, incorporating an alter-ego figure—another Anna with a similar life trajectory—to guide the audience through an intimate exploration of her identity.
Program
Using "Midsummer" as a recurring motif, the play portrays three pivotal moments of departure in Anna’s life: her first time leaving home as a young girl, a trip abroad with her brother in her youth, and her final farewell in her old age. Through the art of play reading, the production presents Anna’s struggle with truth and self-discovery in a raw and emotionally resonant format.
