Overview

To welcome the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival, the HKFYG Leadership Institute is proud to host the 'Dragon Boat Festival Family Fun Day' from June 19 to 21, 2026. This three-day event is designed to bridge the gap between traditional heritage and modern creativity, offering an educational and fun-filled experience for families, couples, and history enthusiasts alike.

Highlights & Workshops

The event features a diverse array of interactive sessions where participants can engage with traditional elements in a creative way:

  • Natural Herbal Fish Sachet Workshop: Learn about traditional medicinal herbs while crafting a delicate, vintage-style fish-shaped sachet.
  • Plush Zongzi Workshop: Reimagine the traditional sticky rice dumpling as a cute and therapeutic plush toy.
  • Gold Foiling Postcard Workshop: Guided by professional artists, participants can learn the fine art of gold foiling to create bespoke festival postcards.
  • Mosaic Crafting Workshop: Design your own geometric decorative pieces inspired by the unique architecture of the venue.

Historic Venue Experience

Hosted at the former Fanling Magistracy—a Grade III historic building—the event invites visitors to explore the site's rich architectural and judicial history. Participants can join free guided tours to admire the neoclassical design of the building. Furthermore, the mock courtroom experience is a highlight; visitors can don judicial robes, hold a gavel, and capture photos as a 'judge for a day' within the authentic courtroom setting.
