Program Overview
Li Ka-man, an acclaimed performer in the Hong Kong theater scene known for her award-winning role in 2021 Who Killed the Elephant, makes her debut as a solo creator with BPM 72. This original one-woman show is scheduled to take place throughout June 2026.
"BPM 72" represents the rhythm of a steady heartbeat—a state lingering between wakefulness and dreams. The production serves as an exploration of how time shapes us and how we navigate the passage of time. Through a blend of physical theater, dance, vocal expression, and intentional silences, Li explores the absurd, the forgotten, and the unspoken aspects of human existence. Inviting the audience into the quiet, dim atmosphere of the performance space, Li asks: "If serving others is a necessity of existence, surely serving oneself should be a prerequisite?"
