Highlights

Presented by the Hong Kong Philharmonic and HKU MUSE, this concert features a unique collaboration. Before officially assuming his role as Music Director of the HK Phil, the prodigious Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski will trade his baton for the piano to present an exquisite Lieder recital. Program

This program features a poignant journey through the depth of German romanticism and beyond:

  • Schumann's Frauenliebe und Leben: A cycle capturing the various emotional stages of a woman's life.
  • Berg's Sieben frühe Lieder: A showcase of delicate, post-romantic colors infused with early modernism.
  • Mahler's Rückert-Lieder: A profound synthesis of poetry and music, characteristic of Mahler's philosophical depth.

The concert lasts approximately 80 minutes, including an interval.
