Overview
To commemorate the passing of the late, distinguished Hong Kong composer Mr. Chan Nang-chi, the Agape Chorale has organized this special tribute concert. Throughout his life, Mr. Chan produced a wealth of deeply moving musical compositions. Over the past fifty years, the Chorale and their conductor, Mr. Chiang Wai-man, have shared a profound musical partnership with Mr. Chan, frequently collaborating and performing the premieres of many of his works. This concert serves as a celebration of that enduring connection.
Highlights
The concert will feature a variety of original and arranged choral pieces by Mr. Chan, performed in both Mandarin and Cantonese to showcase the breadth of his artistic range. The program includes:
- Four Xinjiang Folk Songs
- Selections from "Walled City Folklore"
- The complete "Ode to the Pearl of the Orient"
- Two Ancient Poems
- "Seeing Off at the Ancient Grassland"
- "The Chariots"
