Overview
"Urban Layers: A Photographic Walk of Architecture and Culture" is an immersive experience blending basic photography training with cultural exploration. Hong Kong is an ever-evolving city, and its architecture holds century-old memories and community narratives. This course invites participants to step outside and visit significant cultural landmarks such as the Blue House and Kowloon Walled City Park, learning to reinterpret the city by focusing on architectural structures, light, and texture.
Program Details
Designed for beginners, the three-session course aims to capture the hidden beauty within the city:
- Session 1: Foundational Techniques - Covering composition and perspective to prepare for field work.
- Sessions 2 & 3: Photowalk - Instructor-led excursions to iconic sites, allowing participants to practice their observation skills while uncovering the history behind the buildings.
Note: Outdoor locations and times are subject to change based on weather conditions.
Instructor
The course is led by Lo Yuen-ting (Amy), who provides professional guidance on capturing the city's unique aesthetics.
Practical Information
- Eligibility: Aged 16+. Participants may bring their own smartphones or cameras.
- Medium of Instruction: English.
- Tuition Fee: HKD 1,790.
