Mr. Peng Xiuwen was a pivotal figure in 20th-century Chinese traditional music. As both an innovator and practitioner, he laid the foundations for the modern national orchestra and propelled Chinese music onto the international stage in a symphonic format. Conducted by HKCO Artistic Director Yan Huichang—who shared a profound bond with the late master—the concert will feature invited guest performers from the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra, an ensemble long associated with Peng during his lifetime.
