Overview
Local independent performing arts group, The Bootstrap Theatre HK, proudly presents its debut original production, "JOB: Fateful Fever Dream." This brand-new rock musical is adapted from one of the world's most profound, inspiring, and enduring pieces of ancient literature: the biblical story of Job.
Using a fresh theatrical language, the production reinterprets timeless and intimate themes such as faith, divine justice, human suffering, and the mysteries of God. The story follows Job, a pious and innocent man who successfully leads his people away from a war-torn homeland to an island far removed from violence and destruction. However, God allows Satan to put Job’s faith to the ultimate test, stripping him of everything: his wealth and achievements, his family, his health, and everything he held dear in life.
Performers
"JOB: Fateful Fever Dream" is written, composed, and directed by the award-winning Filipino theatre artist William Elvin Manzano. Having created numerous acclaimed works in Manila, this marks the first time one of his musicals is being staged outside of the Philippines. The performance features a diverse, cross-cultural cast, with seasoned musical theatre actor Felix Rivera leading the production in the title role of Job.
