Highlights
Welcome to CHAT's summer creative workshop! This two-day summer camp, specifically designed for children aged 7 to 12, invites kids to dive into a creative journey where they can craft their own functional art piece from scratch. This hands-on experience is a fantastic opportunity for children to unleash their imagination while learning essential textile crafting techniques.
Program
Over the two days, participants will explore the fun side of textile design and create their very own waterproof tote bag:
- Day 1: Print Design — At the CHAT Studio, children will learn screen printing and block printing techniques. They will apply these skills to durable waterproof canvas to create custom, all-over patterns, giving their bags a personalized aesthetic.
- Day 2: Assembly — In the CHAT Lab, participants will take the fabric they printed the day before and transform it into a finished tote bag. This session covers pattern making, fabric cutting, and basic machine sewing. Additionally, children will learn to create braided handles, adding practical and decorative details to their bags.
