Highlights

Lucie Chang Fine Arts is pleased to present "All the Paintings I Never Painted," a new solo exhibition by British artist Jonathan Miles. This exhibition delves into the philosophy behind the creative process, focusing on the vast, invisible realm of works that are forgotten, discarded, or left unformed. Miles reveals that every finished painting is merely the tip of the iceberg, capturing the myriad fleeting moments that remain undefined in the passage of time.

Program Introduction

At the heart of this exhibition is the capture of "creative traces." For Miles, painting is not simply an act of producing knowledge, but a dramatic struggle between reason and impulse, control and chaos. These works represent a crystallization of the artist’s memory network, fusing light, gaps, and physical gestures. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the artist’s unique interpretation of "counting days," feeling the emotions and thoughts frozen within the tension of the creative process.

In addition to Jonathan Miles' solo work, the gallery is also presenting special projects featuring Zhao Haitan and Zhu Xinjian, both of whom have participated in Art Basel Hong Kong. These additional projects complement Miles' exhibition, creating a multi-layered viewing experience.
