About the Program
The concept of "Sunmoji" derives from the circle, functioning as a "living community catalogue" that captures and updates local life experiences. The 24 individual pieces feature swappable inserts created by the artist in collaboration with local residents and students, weaving together the unique stories and emotions of the neighborhood. On special occasions, these pieces can be rearranged into a ring, creating a shared space for public gatherings and collective creation. As sunlight filters through the trees, the work transforms with changing light and shadow, telling stories deeply connected to the local area.
