'Music and Tea in the Tea House' is the signature program of the Xiqu Centre Tea House Theatre, designed to bring traditional Cantonese opera to a broader audience. Under the artistic direction of legendary Cantonese opera artist Law Kar-ying, the Tea House Rising Stars Troupe presents a 90-minute experience that combines opera excerpts, instrumental music, and insightful commentary. The theatre is designed to resemble a traditional Chinese tea house, allowing guests to enjoy authentic tea and dim sum while watching the performance.

The September run features a selection of popular and classic pieces, including 'Consoling the Wife' from The Legend of the Purple Hairpin, highlighting nuanced emotions, and the newly adapted 'Stealing the Herb' from The White Snake, showcasing impressive performing skills. The lineup also includes 'Resolving Enmity' from Mu Guiying Breaks the Hongzhou City, depicting a tense yet resolved relationship between a general couple. The program varies across performances, ensuring a unique experience each time.
Performers
Presented by the West Kowloon Cultural District, the production is curated and directed by Law Kar-ying. Chung Chun-chun serves as the producer, with Cheng Wing-mui as the rehearsal director. The music is designed by Wong Po-suen, with Li Dik-lun as the music leader and Mak Ka-wai as the percussion leader. The cast features a vibrant group of young actors, including Wong Hei-wing, Man Suet-chau, To Wing-sum, Chan Kei-ting, Chan Hei-yu, and others, accompanied by professional musicians.

- Ticket Prices: Balcony HKD 350 / Stalls HKD 300
- Concessions: Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens (60+), people with disabilities and their minders, CSSA recipients, and full-time students.
