Shangri-La Group presents the "Dragonbeat" festival, a brand-new initiative that reimagines the traditional Dragon Boat Festival with a modern lifestyle perspective. As the title sponsor of the "Shangri-La Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships" for the next five years, the group will host a multifaceted celebration in Stanley on June 19, 2026. The event brings together sports, culture, cuisine, and entertainment, featuring Olympic gold medalist Eileen Gu as the brand ambassador and collaborating with local talents to create a unique cultural experience that bridges tradition and contemporary trends.

Program

The "Dragonbeat" festival features three core experiences that blend high-energy competition with leisure:

• Shangri-La Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships: An annual highlight of the Hong Kong sports calendar, featuring over 180 teams showcasing strength and team spirit in thrilling races.
• "Taste of Hong Kong by Shangri-La" Food Market: Curated by the Shangri-La culinary team and local F&B experts, offering a diverse array of authentic Hong Kong flavors and international delights.
• "Dragonbeat" DJ Party: A beachside music event held for the first time during the Dragon Boat Festival, featuring popular DJs to keep the festival energy going from day to dusk.

Adding to the festive vibe, a four-meter-tall inflatable dragon art installation will serve as a photo hotspot, transforming into a mesmerizing light display after dark.

The event showcases a fusion of creative talents, including:

• Eileen Gu: Official Ambassador for "Dragonbeat".
• Jim Lee: Renowned hand-painted sign artist, responsible for the dragon boat artwork and the giant installation.

Venue & Access

Events will take place in Stanley, spanning Stanley Main Beach (for races and parties) and the Hong Kong Sea School Football Field (for the food market). Water stations will be available on-site to encourage a green celebration; visitors are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles.
