Event Overview
Bio-art might seem like an abstract field of scientific research, but we live in constant symbiosis with microbial partners every day; our bodies are walking laboratories! Organized by the "SATA Summer Academy," this workshop starts with premium tea leaves from the historic "Kee Heung Chun Tea Company" in Kennedy Town, guiding participants to connect with community and nature while exploring the possibilities of bio-art.
Highlights
- Discover Bio-Art: A gentle introduction to the intersection of microorganisms and art, transforming science into creative expression.
- Local Connection: Using local tea leaves as a medium to explore the delicate relationship between place and ecology.
- Hands-on Experience: Collaborate with "SCOBY" (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast) to brew your own unique batch of Kombucha.
- Observe Life Processes: Learn the principles of bio-fermentation and observe how time transforms materials to create unique flavors.
