Moriyama Hiyori’s first solo exhibition, "To Be, To Fade," is officially open in Hong Kong. This exhibition brings together the profound insights the artist has gained since relocating from Hong Kong to Japan. Through traditional Kyo-yuzen craftsmanship and modern literary works, the exhibition invites the audience into a philosophical dialogue about "existence" and "disappearance." The venue will feature exquisite kimono artworks alongside Moriyama’s writing, showcasing a perfect fusion of traditional craft and contemporary sensibility.

Exhibition Overview

The core of the exhibition lies in exploring the traces that gradually fade in life and the warmth that remains. Moriyama Hiyori, both a Kyo-yuzen textile artist and an essayist, transforms her life observations into the essence of her work. During the exhibition, in addition to viewing the artwork, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase her latest book, April in Nippori, and are encouraged to bring their copies for a signing session with the artist.

About the Artist

• Moriyama Hiyori: A Japan-based Kyo-yuzen textile artist and essayist. She is dedicated to integrating traditional kimono culture with contemporary perspectives.
