Highlights
'Eight Graces' is a boundary-pushing artistic journey, co-produced by the Hong Kong Dance Company and Singapore's TENG Ensemble, and presented by China Merchants Foundation. This production is not only a modern interpretation of traditional Chinese culture but also a commitment to 'green theatre,' utilizing sustainable practices to pass on cultural essence.
Program
Inspired by the 'Eight Graces'—Qin (zither), Chess, Calligraphy, Painting, Poetry, Incense, Flower, and Tea—dancers and musicians engage in a sensory dialogue on stage. Through contemporary choreography, structured theatre, and genre-bending live music from the TENG Ensemble, the piece invites the audience to reflect on the rhythm of life and rediscover balance and tranquility amidst the urban hustle. As a featured partner program of the 'Asia+ Festival' and the 'Performing Arts Expo 2026', this work exemplifies the limitless potential of contemporary Asian art.
Performers
The production features a star-studded creative team, including Artistic Coordinator Yang Yuntao, Choreographer Huang Lei, and Music Directors Dr. Huang Sheng-Miao and Huang Xinrui. The performance brings together the dancers of the Hong Kong Dance Company and the musicians of the TENG Ensemble.
