This course focuses on observing, interpreting, and translating human forms into art.
Program
Over the course of 10 sessions, participants will create works using diverse media including pencil, charcoal, pastel, and oil paint. The instructor will guide students through the works of masters ranging from the classical to the contemporary—including the robust, masculine lines of Michelangelo, the evocative feminine forms of Gustav Klimt, and the intimate portraiture style of Alice Neel. - Capturing the rhythm and cadence in figure painting.
- Enhancing observational skills for complex body angles.
