Highlights

Led by Tsang Ka-lok, the current President of the Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers, this course offers an excellent opportunity for photography enthusiasts to deeply understand light logic and professional composition. Rather than focusing on complex equipment, the course emphasizes guiding students to develop their own personal 'way of seeing,' internalizing aesthetic thinking into daily creative practice.

Program

This course is divided into three interconnected modules, covering everything from compositional aesthetics to practical field photography:

  • Session 1: The Way of Seeing — Composition and Light Logic An in-depth exploration of how professional photographers use light contrast, geometric composition, and negative space to enhance the depth of an image. Students will learn how to discover artistic elements in everyday scenes.

  • **Session 2: The Way of Mastering — Camera Logic and Technical Application ** This session breaks down how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO affect the texture of an image, guiding students to flexibly use camera modes to precisely control presentation and inject emotion into their work.

  • Session 3: The Way of Narrative — City Fieldwork and Visual Storytelling The instructor will lead students through the heart of the city for fieldwork, training them to keenly capture the 'decisive moment' in ever-changing environments, and to handle complex lighting conditions to create photography with narrative depth.
