"Joyful Awakening: Mental Health, Art and Community Development" is a unique course that combines community development research with the principles of United Nations human rights conventions. Through an accessible yet profound curriculum, participants will rethink the vital role of art in community services, rights advocacy, and individual well-being.

Program

Presented by the Hong Kong Arts Centre and led by instructor Cheung Hing-yee, this course explores community art organizations related to mental health. The program includes deep-dive analyses of case studies from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the United Kingdom. Participants will examine core concepts such as "support," "discrimination," and "equality" while exploring their own selves through the creative process. The course emphasizes both theory and practice, encouraging students to transform their creative insights into inclusive community art proposals.

Organized by the Hong Kong Arts Centre, this course is led by experienced art instructor Cheung Hing-yee, who will provide professional guidance and inspiration based on her extensive experience in community art.

The course fee is HKD 2090. The Hong Kong Arts Centre offers several discounts:
