Highlights
"Four Seasons Wood Songs" represents a cross-cultural musical dialogue between Hong Kong marimba player Leung Pui-yan and Japanese virtuoso Hiromi Shigeno. More than just an auditory performance, the concert features live, real-time visual art by artist moon.noon, weaving together the flow of music and shifting visuals. Audience members are invited to immerse themselves in the warmth and resonance of the marimba, experiencing the seasonal transitions from spring growth to winter silence in a deeply sensory nature-themed performance.
Program
Structured around the cycle of the four seasons, the repertoire integrates reinterpreted classical compositions with contemporary original pieces for the marimba. Through the crisp and profound tones of the instrument, the performers capture the passage of time and the delicate nuances of nature. Having previously garnered support from the Zurich cultural authorities for its performances in Switzerland, this acclaimed production returns to the stage, making its Hong Kong debut.
