Program Overview
Eileen Chang remains a legendary figure in 20th-century Chinese literature, known for her sharp, detached prose that unearths the profound emotions and transient moments of human existence. Hong Kong—a city where tradition meets modernity, East meets West, and desire intertwines with survival—infused her creative output with unique colors and contrasts. This dance theatre production, 'Ten Colors, One Dream', takes inspiration from her seminal collection 'Romances' (Chuanqi). Through fluid physical vocabulary and multi-layered video design, the piece resurrects her literary world of memory, hallucinations, and moonlight on stage. It explores ten distinct spaces, ten lives, and ten interlaced destinies.
