Overview
How can arts festivals evolve towards sustainable development? Achieving true sustainability requires more than just good intentions; it demands active, structured collaboration between festival organizers, producers, suppliers, service providers, and local government bodies. Moderated by Ross Patel of LIVE Green, this session introduces a practical model that effectively connects these diverse stakeholders, aiming to foster a more sustainable future for the arts sector.
Programme
Drawing on comprehensive experiences from the United Kingdom, this event explores how different stakeholders can implement joint actions across crucial areas such as strategic planning, technical production, energy management, waste reduction, logistics, and policy formulation. These strategies are designed to minimize the environmental footprint of live cultural events. We warmly welcome members of the public, arts administrators, and cultural workers interested in sustainable festivals to join us in examining these international best practices and discussing their implications and feasibility within the Hong Kong context.
Performers
The session is moderated by Ross Patel, a specialist from LIVE with extensive experience in the live music venue and entertainment industry, focusing on sustainable operational practices.
