The 30th ifva Awards & Festival

Overview

Established by the Hong Kong Arts Centre in 1995, ifva (Incubator for Film and Visual Media in Asia) has dedicated itself to providing a professional platform for local and Asian independent creators to showcase, exchange, and promote their work. Over the past three decades, through competitions, public screenings, and extended programming, ifva has not only discovered countless emerging filmmakers but has also witnessed the vibrant evolution of visual creation in Hong Kong and Asia, cementing its status as a pioneer in the Asian media arts scene.

Highlights

Reaching its 30th edition marks a significant milestone, serving as a catalyst for growth and transformation. In addition to upholding its traditions, this year’s festival introduces a new "AI Short Film" category, reflecting the evolving landscape of technology and creative fusion, and further expanding the boundaries of visual expression.

Screening Details

The Hong Kong Arts Centre will host screenings of the shortlisted works from October 9 to October 23. The program brings together exceptional entries from Hong Kong and across Asia, encompassing short films, animations, and experimental AI works. Audiences will have the opportunity to explore the diverse aesthetics and perspectives of contemporary visual creation.

Ticketing Information

• Standard Ticket: HKD 85
• Concession Ticket: HKD 68 (Available for Friends of HKAC, HKAAA members, full-time students, seniors aged 60+, people with disabilities and their caretakers, CSSA recipients, and purchases of 4 or more standard tickets).
• Notes: Free seating. Each ticket is eligible for only one discount. If any program is rated Category III, ticket holders under 18 may apply for a refund by October 31.
