Creative Prescription Lab - Quarryside Festival 2026

Highlights

The "Creative Prescription Lab" is a collaborative initiative between St. James' Settlement - Quarryside and MaD. Based on field research conducted between May and July in the Quarry Bay and Taikoo areas, the project captures local residents' perspectives on happiness and community creativity, presenting them as "creative prescriptions" to share with the wider public.

Program

The event features a curated exhibition and a series of interactive workshops designed by community members. The exhibition is open to the public without prior registration, while the workshops focus on hands-on experiences:

• "Egg" Painting Workshop: Just as the body needs protein, our minds need a dose of joy. Participants explore circular "egg" motifs to boost their mental wellness.
• Happy Calligraphy Workshop: Guided by local experts from the Eastern District, participants learn the fundamentals of brush calligraphy to create personalized mood-boosting cards.
• Halloween Reading Workshop: Inspired by the "Trick or Treat" tradition, this workshop offers a curated selection of books, inviting participants to explore literature and discover unexpected treats or "tricks" within the pages.
