Overview

The landscape of Quarry Bay has constantly evolved over time, with iconic landmarks like the Swiss House and traditional stationery shops becoming collective memories. As part of the "Quarryside Festival 2026," St. James' Settlement - Quarryside presents the "Fotomo Community 3D Photo Model Workshop," inviting the public to slow down and rediscover this familiar neighborhood.

"Fotomo" is an art form that merges photography with model making. Participants will use techniques like layering and collage to transform flat photographs of the district into 3D models. This creative process allows participants to view the cityscape from a fresh perspective and preserve unique cultural imprints of the area. It is more than just a craft workshop; it is a dialogue about community conservation and visual storytelling.

Highlights

  • Hands-on Crafting: Create your own Fotomo 3D model while mastering techniques of image layering and spatial construction.
  • Community Connection: Reconnect with the changing landscapes of Quarry Bay and preserve the streetscapes that are fading into history.
  • Family Friendly: Open to individuals aged 6 and above; children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, making it a perfect weekend activity for families.
