Overview
Swing dance is a dynamic and social dance style that originated during the golden age of jazz in the 1920s and 1930s. This November, the Fringe Club and Hong Kong Swings have joined forces to bring a series of exciting 'Swing Dance Nights' to Hong Kong. This is more than just a dance party; it is a community platform where people who love music and movement can connect. Whether you are an experienced dancer or a curious beginner, stepping onto the dance floor will immerse you in the joyous and lively atmosphere that only Swing can offer.
Program Details
These events take place every Wednesday night throughout November, injecting a relaxed rhythm into your busy urban life. The highlight of each session is the 'learn-then-dance' format. The event begins with a 30-minute introductory lesson led by professional instructors, helping participants quickly grasp the core steps and rhythm of Swing dance. Following the lesson, the floor opens for an 'Open Social Dance,' where you can relax, find a partner, or simply enjoy the music while dancing freely in the unique, historic setting of the Fringe Club.
Performers & Organizers
The event is co-presented by the Fringe Club and Hong Kong Swings. Hong Kong Swings is a prominent organization dedicated to promoting Swing dance in Hong Kong. The Fringe Club serves as the host venue, providing an artistic and historic backdrop that makes each Swing Dance Night feel both retro and modern.
