Highlights

Presented by Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG), the "Awakening of Memory" talk series proudly features Donna Kerridge, an esteemed practitioner of Rongoā Māori (traditional Māori healing) from Aotearoa, New Zealand. This session invites participants to step beyond the conventional medical paradigm and rediscover the authentic essence of health and holistic healing through an indigenous lens.

Program

"Learning the Language of the Land" is more than a talk; it is a profound exploration of our relationship with nature. Donna Kerridge will guide participants through the wisdom of Rongoā Māori, illustrating that well-being is not merely a biological state but a holistic result of our connection to the land, ecological systems, ancestral traditions, and local communities. In the hustle of modern urban life, have we lost our sense of belonging and the inherent wisdom of nature? Through captivating narratives and ecological observations, this session invites you to reflect on what is required for personal and communal healing.

About the Speakers

With over two decades of experience in the field of Rongoā Māori, Donna Kerridge is a dedicated practitioner and teacher who excels at translating ancient indigenous knowledge into accessible, inspiring language for contemporary audiences. The event will be moderated by Josephine Woo, Head of the Holistic Education Department at KFBG. With a strong background in nature education, mindfulness practice, and Buddhist counseling, Josephine will facilitate a meaningful dialogue that bridges traditional wisdom with the challenges of modern living.
