Overview
"Man in the Ceiling," adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning work by cartoonist Jules Feiffer with music by Tony-nominated composer Andrew Lippa, is brought to the stage by a dedicated musical theatre team. This Hong Kong production features Cantonese lyrics adapted by renowned lyricist Canny Shum and an elite creative team, promising an inspiring and imaginative musical journey.
The story centers on 12-year-old Jimmy, a boy who dreams of becoming a cartoonist. However, his aspirations collide with the harsh reality of an unsupportive father, an oblivious mother, and a discouraged uncle struggling in the musical theater world. Feeling isolated and overwhelmed, Jimmy discovers the power of his own imagination to "break through the ceiling," urging him to defy limitations and pursue his passion with resilience and courage. This uplifting production is a celebration of creativity, perseverance, and the bravery to dream.

Produced by Music Theatre, the production is helmed by Artistic Director and Choreographer 谢漢文, with Director 陳力生, Music Director 羅健邦, and Vocal Coach 何朗幏. The cast features talented performers including 袁浩楊, 董朗生, 麥紫筠, 邢灝, 陳書昕, and 鄺渙軒, who will bring this moving coming-of-age story to life through powerful performances.
